Shara graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA in Secondary Education. She was an ELA instructor for many years before joining the Scholastic/HMH team. As a Regional Consultant, Shara traveled the country aiding school districts in implementing literacy programs throughout their curriculum. After leaving the educational world in 2018, Shara found herself volunteering at SASHA Farm Animal Sanctuary. She quickly stepped into an Animal Care position, then achieved the position of Executive Director. Shara oversees the day-to-day operations of SASHA Farm and its animal residents.
