Mike has been an integral part of our sanctuary family since November 27, 2009. Initially drawn to the sanctuary as a volunteer, Mike’s deep connection to the animals led him to embrace a fully vegan lifestyle just six months after he began his journey with us. His dedication and passion for animal advocacy recently extended beyond volunteering, and he proudly serves on our Board of Directors, where his leadership and compassion continue to help guide our mission.
When he’s not working in higher education, where he’s made a positive impact for nearly 30 years, Mike can often be found in the hay barn, spending time in the pasture with our playful goats and sheep, or working tirelessly in the various pastures to maintain the sanctuary’s grounds. The time he’s spent here has deeply transformed him, and he cherishes the meaningful connections he’s built with the animals and the community.
Mike’s story is a testament to how the sanctuary not only cares for its animals but also inspires lasting personal growth and change. His unwavering commitment to animal welfare and his valuable contributions to our sanctuary continue to shape the future of our mission.
