Gary Yourofsky is a prominent animal rights activist who, from 1998 to 2015, delivered over 2,600 lectures to more than 60,000 people across 186 schools in 30 states. He has also gained attention for his acts of civil disobedience, including liberating more than 1,500 minks from a fur farm in 1997, an act that led to his being arrested multiple times and banned from five countries. A Michigan native, he holds a B.A. in journalism and a radio broadcasting degree.
