Letter to everyone
Dear Friends,
As we step into a new chapter at SASHA Farm, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible support we’ve received—especially during this challenging transition. Your past support has been invaluable, and we wouldn’t have made it this far without you. This year has brought significant changes and challenges that have tested our resilience, but our community, including you, has stood by us through it all.
We are deeply grateful to have reunited with our dedicated supporters, volunteers, and staff. Together, we are committed to moving forward, strengthening our sanctuary, and providing our residents with a safe and loving home. However, we need your help now more than ever.
Our veterinary expenses have reached an all-time high with a growing number of senior, geriatric, and special-needs animals in our care. As we prepare for another harsh Michigan winter, the financial and physical demands of caring for our rescues continue to grow. Your support is critical in ensuring that each animal receives the warmth, nourishment, and individualized care they need to thrive.
Our beloved resident, Mr. Rogers, a senior cow who recently underwent emergency eye surgery at Michigan State University, is a testament to this need. The procedure was extremely costly, but thanks to your generosity, he has fully recovered and is back with his friends, enjoying the peace and comfort of sanctuary life. His story is just one of many that highlight how vital your support is in keeping our animals safe and healthy.
Despite the hardships of 2024, there have also been moments of hope and joy. We successfully rescued Frank, a frightened potbelly pig found wandering the streets of Detroit. Today, he spends his days rooting around the farm and snuggling with his best friend, Lou, in their warm, straw-filled bachelor pad.
We also welcomed Penelope and Pippin, a mother-and-baby goat duo abandoned by their previous owners. When they arrived, they were hungry, scared, and uncertain of their future. Now, they roam the pastures freely, enjoy fresh produce snacks, and have found love and security in their forever home at SASHA Farm.
Every donation, no matter the size, profoundly affects our ability to care for our current residents and rescue more needy animals. Your kindness provides food, shelter, medical care, and the second chances these animals deserve.
With your continued support, we can continue giving farm animals the love, compassion, and sanctuary they desperately need, and we look forward to many more success stories like those of Frank, Penelope, and Pippin. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us.
With gratitude,
SASHA Farm Family
