Chewy
Chewy, officially known as Chewbacca, is a stunning long-tailed sheep who found his way to SASHA Farm in the 2010s. His journey wasn’t an easy one—he was part of a heartbreaking hoarding case that left many animals neglected and without a safe place to call home.
Like most sheep, Chewy was naturally skittish, a survival instinct as a prey animal. When he first arrived at the sanctuary, he was incredibly shy and avoided all human interaction. However, within the safety of the sanctuary’s sheep herd, he found comfort, companionship, and a sense of belonging.
Over time, Chewy began to trust his human caretakers. Slowly but surely, he warmed up to the staff, learning that he was finally in a place where he was safe and loved. Now, he greets us each morning with curiosity, confidently approaching and making sure we never forget when it’s feeding time!
Watching Chewy’s transformation has been truly rewarding, and we are so proud of how far he has come.
