Ichabod
Ichabod, this small but spunky mini-horse, had a rough start in life. Alongside his pal Rusty (who sadly passed in 2024), he was part of a neglect case. They were mistreated, lacked proper medical care, and desperately needed love and attention. Fortunately, a small family rescue in Illinois learned about their plight and stepped in to help. While they did their best to care for Ichabod and Rusty, they knew they couldn’t provide for them long-term. So, they reached out to other rescues to find these little guys the forever homes they deserved.
In the spring of 2009, Ichabod and Rusty made their way to SASHA Farm. By then, they were already adults, and Ichabod was believed to be well into his 20s. Though Ichabod is currently the only mini-horse living at the farm, he certainly makes his presence known. He loves to run full speed across the lush pastures, devours his favorite treats, and enjoys playing chase with his caretakers. He’s a tiny, furry ball of joy and adorableness!
