I know those of you who read this blog will have probably seen this story. If you support our mission, you probably already know that the abuse suffered by the cows at Conklin Dairy Farms is hardly exceptional.

Were you able to watch the video? Many of us have seen so many images of animal abuse that watching one more seems unbearable. If you’ve already chosen to adopt a compassionate vegan lifestyle, you’re not the one who needs to watch it.  If you’re the type of person who could care less what suffering other creatures endure on their way to your dinner plate as long as your steak is cooked up just the way you like it, well, you’re probably not reading this, and if you are, you’ve probably already made up your mind that anyone who thinks animals feel pain or fear or suffering is crazy. But if you care how animals are treated, if you know, really know, that they have as much right to live comfortably and peacefully as we do, but you haven’t been able to translate that into a more compassionate way of eating yet, please watch this video. It’s really tough, and you’ll want to turn it off, but if you’re still buying meat and dairy products, you’re essentially paying these people to do these things. You can think to yourself that this is just an isolated case of a bad person doing bad things, but the fact is that the entire industry operates in ways that encourages cruelty. If you couldn’t do these things to an animal because it feels wrong, why are you paying someone else to do it for you?

Are you nodding your head in agreement? Send this video to anyone you know who needs to see it. You know who they are. Urge them to watch it. It might not be the thing that helps them finally make the connection, but it might plant the seed.
