Remember the chained puppy…?
The one who’s release Monte negotiated back in the late summer? This was her when Monte first saw her in September, on a three-foot-long chain that weighed as much as she did, left to waste away in a backyard. 
Well, here she is just a couple of days ago, celebrating her first Christmas in her new home. Sophie, now a whopping 29 pounds, received more gifts than any of the humans at the family celebration, including her own stocking full of toys, a cool new ID tag, and a really, really big monkey.
