It’s snowing white goats!
It rained goats this spring, but this is definitely snow!
We took nine goats, three mothers and their twins, from a sanctuary in Indiana at the request of their previous rescuer who brought us Stripes, Petey, Galaxy, Nan, Kip Napoleon and Cocoa. They were separated this spring when their rescuer became ill. Stripes and company were brought to us and quickly became visitor and volunteer favorites. These nine were taken to Indiana, and when things weren’t working out there, the rescuer called and asked if we’d take this group, too. We agreed, and last week, a trailer full of pale Saanen diary goats arrived at the sanctuary.
The first intrepid explorer jumps down. Is she telling the others it seems like a decent place to stay?
“What do you think?”
The kids found the hay and settled in quickly.
They also felt comfortable enough to sample the dairy bar.
We’re very happy to have our new goat girls (and one boy!), and they seem happy to be here. Petey, Stripes, and the rest of the group have already shown us that they remember their old friends, and we can’t wait to reunite them permanently. Some of the moms and kids are a little shy, so they’re bunking in the people barn for a little socialization. They’ve already learned to beg for treats. They’d love to meet everyone at our next work party!

They sure do know how to beg for treats already. And who can resist those faces?! I’m afraid they may already be spoiled =)

They all are so beautiful and I know they will have a good life on Sasha Farm!
