Someone must need a kitten, right?

Monte went to get a load of hay Sunday, and he came back with a tiny black kitten. The farmer was concerned because it was “too friendly” and his dog might kill it. He looks to be about six weeks old, and while that’s really young to be separated from his mother and littermates, he’s eating pretty well on his own. I was more worried about his social development without his siblings, so I took him home to hang out with my little pack of cats until we find him a home.

Sure enough, this is a friendly, outgoing little kitten without an ounce of fear when it comes to dogs or other cats. (It will be important to keep him safe around dogs since he really doesn’t understand that they can hurt him. He pounced right on our 70-pound puppy!) He is very playful, (aren’t all kittens?), but really loves to cuddle up next to a warm body to sleep. He’s pretty much your typical black shorthair. He has white eyelashes and a cute white spot on his tummy. His eyes are still kitten blue. When you talk to him, he talks right back. He’s going to the vet on Friday for a checkup, and after that, he’ll be ready for his soulmate to sweep him off his little black paws!

So, he needs a name and a family! If you’re interested in meeting him, contact me (amanda at sashafarm dot org) or you can call the farm at (734)428-9617. Expect to sign an adoption contract and make a small donation to the farm to help cover his care.
